Spiritualist Meditation Group, Pontardawe

Name: Spiritualist Meditation Group, Pontardawe

Description: This group is a small gathering of a maximum of 6 people who meet weekly for friendship and a led-meditation inspired by the philosophy of White Eagle and other spiritualist teachers.

The evenings are an opportunity to share companionship and support with like-minded people. The aim is to achieve inner peace, a closer connection to the spirit world and an opportunity to send out love and healing to the world.

Each meeting starts with a little time for an informal catch-up, a time for members to chat about anything that is on their mind with a spiritualist focus. This is usually followed by a short inspirational discussion from the teachings of White Eagle, or other spiritualist material. After an opening 'prayer' for protection, we enjoy a meditation of approximately 20 minutes, after which the group is given time to share any insights they gained during meditation. A closing 'prayer' concludes the formalities. Members are invited to stay on for refreshments and more chat.

The evenings are held in the organiser’s home in Trebanos, currently every Thursday, starting at 7.30pm and ending approximately 9.30pm.
There is no charge to attend.

Fair Treatment for the Women of Wales

Any other names/acronyms which you are known by: FTWW

Description: Fair Treatment for the Women of Wales (FTWW) is a third sector organisation set up to support, inform, educate, and advocate for girls and women in Wales who are suffering a range of health conditions and who are not receiving adequate (or fair) treatment.

FTWW aims to empower women to speak up with confidence amidst a medical and societal environment which tends to privilege the male experience, often dismissing women’s symptoms and concerns as being ‘psychological’ in origin.

Current campaign is on Endometriosis but it is our mission to support all girls and women regardless of the condition as we notice the big inequalities women face within the healthcare system.

We have a closed Facebook group for discussion and information, a website, and you can also contact us for further support.

Street Football Wales

Currently we have 4 leagues based in Swansea, Newport, Merthyr Tydfil and Colwyn Bay. Our league season runs over 8 matchdays (once a month) from March to October with 2 cup competitions one locally which is during the season and a National Social Inclusion Cup Competition at the end of the season.

Street Football Wales is there for people when they have reached that point. It’s an opportunity for people to be involved in something where they will not be judged or stigmatised.

SFW developed and delivers its Training & Education programme to participants from within SFW attending and gaining qualifications. Participant volunteers are actively involved in the delivery of the project with participants attending monthly Branch Meetings.

The International participation (Homeless World Cup) programme has also been incredibly successful during the past 10 years with record numbers of participants being assessed during the 2013 season. SFW also facilitates a female programme to enable representation from this group at the HWC.
