Description: Dunvant Social Centre aims to provide an amenity for the people of Dunvant and its neighbourhood. It is a registered charity managed by a trustee management committee in accordance with the Charities Act 2006.

Services Offered: The hall is used by dancing clubs, keep fit and exercise clubs, slimming clubs, yoga, the horticultural club, the WI, for meetings, badminton, dog training, indoor bowling, table tennis and is popular for celebration and children's parties. Children's involvement includes Rugby Tots and The Swansea Rock Project. It has a stage and can easily accommodate a bouncing castle in the main hall. Regular clubs and activities are listed on the noticeboards.

Description: Fair Treatment for the Women of Wales (FTWW) is a third sector organisation set up to support, inform, educate, and advocate for girls and women in Wales who are suffering a range of health conditions and who are not receiving adequate (or fair) treatment.

FTWW aims to empower women to speak up with confidence amidst a medical and societal environment which tends to privilege the male experience, often dismissing women’s symptoms and concerns as being ‘psychological’ in origin.

Current campaign is on Endometriosis but it is our mission to support all girls and women regardless of the condition as we notice the big inequalities women face within the healthcare system.

Glamorgan Family History Society – Swansea Branch

Sketty and District Horticultural Society

The purpose of the Society is to provide information on a wide range of gardening and related topics, and to provide friendship. Our members (currently120) cover a wide spectrum of interests and knowledge, but all share an enjoyment of gardens and beauty of nature.

Description of Organisation:
Generally we have a speaker, some refreshments, and then the opportunity to ask questions of our speaker. In April we hold our Spring Show, and have a buffet. This is a popular evening, and the display of spring flowers en masse is truly beautiful. Members are welcome to enter their flowers and potted plants, which are sorted into various classes before judging takes place. At Christmas we have a Social evening, when members bring along their surplus plants, which can be purchased at nominal prices. We organise coach trips to gardens of particular interest usually twice a year. We have been able to arrange discounts with local businesses for your gardening needs.

Cost of Membership/Charges: Annual subscription is £10, which includes refreshments at each meeting. We charge £3 to attend the Spring Show and £1.50 for the Christmas Social, where members are also asked to bring along a plate of food. A raffle is held in April (at the Spring Show) and at the Christmas Social. The cost of the raffle ticket is included in the price of the ticket for each event.

West Wales Dyslexia Association

The aim is to help people who are dyslexic: adults, children and their families, to learn how to overcome their problems and make the most of their potential; to collect and provide information about dyslexia; to encourage better understanding in schools and by teachers; to call for better educational facilities.  

Services Offered: We aim to keep up to date with local schools and educational services and provide support for teachers and parents, and for all those involved in higher education. We support adults with dyslexia and liaise with employers. We give advice and understanding and assessments for both children and adults. We hold meetings with speakers on different aspects of dyslexia and other learning difficulties where you can chat informally and share experiences. We have a Newsletter to keep you up to date with our work. Members receive Contact, the magazine of the British Dyslexia Association. A Help line is available between 6pm and 9pm on weekdays. Glamorgan History Society

Concerned over the last fifty years with nurturing the study of all aspects of the history of Glamorgan within the wider context of the history of Wales. The principal activity of the Society is the publication of the local history journal Morgannwg which contains research articles, archaeological notes, book reviees and other material related to the historic county. Tenancy Support Unit

The TSU acommodation related support service is free and is designed to allow vulnerable individuals and families to sustain occupancy in council, housing association, private rented or owner occupied accommodation.

Description of Organisation: TheTenancy Support Scheme is available to families and individuals vulnerable to homelessness through tenancy breakdown. Issues could include domestic abuse, debt, substance misuse, mental illness and setting up home.
