Llangiwg Community Association

The Llangiwg Community Association. The main purpose of the charity is to preserve and conserve the former church at Llangiwg for the enjoyment and benefit of the present and future generations.

The church is grade 2 listed and dates back to the 6th Century. The church was de-consecrated in 2004 and was purchased by the community in 2007. A community association (Friends of Llangiwg) was established in 2006, to promote social and community activity, with the Llangiwg Community Association formed in 2008 to undertake the responsibility of the building, its conservation and protection for future generations.

Part of this responsibility is to educate and to increase access to the church for the wider community, and through this, to increase awareness and to educate the local, regional and national community in the appreciation of the cultural, historic and natural environment of the area.

Services Offered: Regular monthly Friends of Llangiwg meetings began to be held at the IVY BUSH HOTEL, Pontardawe on the THIRD TUESDAY of the month. All are welcome.
