Swansea Sci-Fi & Fantasy Book Club

Description: Welcome to Swansea Fantasy & Sci-Fi Book Club!

We read and discuss all forms of speculative fiction, primarily Fantasy and Sci-Fi genres with a bit of Horror, Medieval, Romance, etc. thrown in. The best thing about our club is that it is FREE and supports our local library. All attendees will require a library membership in order to use the service, but you're welcome to buy the books if you want to.

We meet every month to discuss our Book of the Month. Meet-up dates are flexible and will be decided amongst the members at the end of each meet-up. Please contact or pop into the library to find out when our next event will be.

The event takes place at: Townhill Library, The Phoenix Centre, Powys Ave, Townhill, Swansea SA1 6PH

The Library is easy to get to; it is on a major bus route, service numbers 12 & 13 from the Quadrant both stop within walking distance. There is also car-parking and disabled access.

There is a cafe available at the centre, but tea & coffee (and likely biscuits) will be provided.

You can also join our Facebook group to take part in voting which book we'll be reading and to discuss with fellow members:

Spiritualist Meditation Group, Pontardawe

Name: Spiritualist Meditation Group, Pontardawe

Description: This group is a small gathering of a maximum of 6 people who meet weekly for friendship and a led-meditation inspired by the philosophy of White Eagle and other spiritualist teachers.

The evenings are an opportunity to share companionship and support with like-minded people. The aim is to achieve inner peace, a closer connection to the spirit world and an opportunity to send out love and healing to the world.

Each meeting starts with a little time for an informal catch-up, a time for members to chat about anything that is on their mind with a spiritualist focus. This is usually followed by a short inspirational discussion from the teachings of White Eagle, or other spiritualist material. After an opening 'prayer' for protection, we enjoy a meditation of approximately 20 minutes, after which the group is given time to share any insights they gained during meditation. A closing 'prayer' concludes the formalities. Members are invited to stay on for refreshments and more chat.

The evenings are held in the organiser’s home in Trebanos, currently every Thursday, starting at 7.30pm and ending approximately 9.30pm.
There is no charge to attend.

The group is for members who are able to commit to attending every week.
